This car has been driving me wild, I see it every time I go to the grocery store. It's a 1973 Mercedes 280 C. Really nice condition, with "53,000" miles. Very little rust, crazy awesome wire wheels. Started with a little effort, sounded pretty solid with zero smoke. Dusty engine with no oily spots, no leaks. No tears in the seats and one minor dash crack that looks like it was fixed with black electricians tape. I want this, I might even get it. So what do you guys think?
$8995?

Steep but not too far off of reasonable. Also, these will only climb in value. Particularly the "C"

Seems a bit expensive to me, but if you held onto it you would probably start gaining a little in value... if you don't wrack up miles or wreck it.

This is what Hagerty had to say:
The W115 and W114 series cars have been referred to as "tank-like" by their enthusiastic following due to their robust construction and reliability, and all permutations of body, engine, and transmission make this Mercedes a choice for many different drivers. Rust compromising the car's unibody structure as well as dry rot in rubber suspension fittings and bushings are areas of concern in all Mercedes-Benzs of this era, and potential owners should pay attention to these two areas when considering a W114 or W115. $8953 was their price.

That guy was like $2,200. Absolutely fuckin' fucked interior. Tears, cigarette burns and chewing gum stuck all over everything. Sorry...

If its the V8, I would definitly buy it. Build a 'Red Pig' replica or make it a classy silver/black daily driver.
Such a beautiful car... you need to swipe it up so you can at least experience the car. Ebay has had the V8s in the 10,000-12,000 dollar range so even if you dont like it... ebay wants it...

Chewing gum? MAN! some people. Tears happen, my drivers seat is torn, probably due to putting on 110,000 miles.

Slightly steep, but the complete lack of stock steelies and hubcaps really throws me off. One thing that really contributes to the character of Mercedes-Benzes of this vintage are matching painted hubcaps.

Nice price if you are will to go to the expense and effort to keep it nice, take car of the bodywork and enjoy driving it. Crack pipe if you going to leave it on the drive going moldy.
